This bearded man is the Holly King. Every year, the Holly King oversees nature from the Summer Solstice until the Winter Solstice. After Winter Solstice, another king called the Oak King reigns until Summer Solstice. (Both kings represent the Green Man, who is a Celtic symbol of nature.)

Solstice Coloring Inspiration
Looking for coloring inspiration for the midwinter? I colored in a sample of the page so you can have an idea of what it might look like. Greens and reds were the main colors with a bit of wintery blue and white. Of course you can color it any color you’d like. If you want to start over, you can always print another copy!
Not sure what to color with? Colored pencils and/or alcohol markers work well for most coloring pages on this website. My favorite coloring pencils are Prismacolor colored pencils which you can find on Amazon.
This coloring page is a pdf that is free to download and print. It fits on letter-size paper. I like printing on fairly heavy paper such as Neenah Vellum Bristol or something similar.
