Juneteenth is a significant day in American history that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, the union army arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced that all enslaved people in Texas were free.
This day is now known as Juneteenth or Freedom Day and is celebrated across the country.
